Hi Brian,
You probable have a better understanding of the Amish and Mennonites. I was born in a Mennonite Hospital and I have no idea about this group. I was not sure how to act in the home of Abner and Katie. I still felt like a stranger and uncomfortable in their home. The whole situation was an eye opener.

I agree with you, Brian, on how some of these people have treated us. It has definitely been an eye-opener for me as a teacher and how we, as teachers treat our students. If adults can treat other adults disrespectfully, than it makes one wonder how they treat and talk-down to the younger generations. Know wonder kids aren't interested in history. Information needs to be delivered to them with passion, understanding, HUMOR, and support!

Brian,
I really liked the guide who took us through the battle so well. I thought he did an outstanding job of presenting it without too me overkill. And I also believed many "myths" before the book & before this trip. Keep up the good work. And thanks for all your insite & advise you give me & everyone else!

Loving the blog Brian! Cool slideshow, sound effects, and I have found myself curious as to where your son's puppy dog will wind up next. Great touch! Interesting tidbit on the height of our recent presidents. I was unaware of that one. I couldn't agree with you more as far as the unfortunate location of all of the wonderful historic sites. Wouldn't it be nice to have them in our own "backyard"? I agree that Berkin was great. Humanizing the founders was indeed a great touch in her repetoire.

I would agree- seeing Washington's headquarters was Definitely amazing and humbling. Just think, we were able to touch the same place that Washington probably ran his hand across a million times- WOW!
Also, I tried to run your slideshow and I couldn't get it to work.
